What is Evidence

A Journal Built for Serious Traders

Evidence Trading is an analytics and journaling application for active traders. It gives you a structured way to record what you did, hard numbers on whether it worked, and a place to practise the parts that did not.

Getting trades in is not your job. Evidence syncs closed trades from the cTrader Open API, tracks them live from MT5, ATAS, Quantower and TradingView, or imports a CSV / MT4 / MT5 statement — and you can always write a trade by hand. Every broker connection is strictly read-only: Evidence never touches open positions, pending orders or any execution layer.

From there it goes further than a logbook. Edge Lab runs the quant work on your own history — risk of ruin, MFE/MAE, what-if scenarios, Monte-Carlo projections. Strategy Lab takes an idea you can describe in a sentence, turns it into rules you click together, and tests it over years of real market data — with a parameter optimiser and a walk-forward check that tells you whether the result was an edge or just curve fitting. Market Replay rewinds the real market to any past day so you can trade it forward candle by candle. And an AI coach reads the journal you are building: it grades closed trades, names the behavioural patterns behind your losing streaks, and warns you while you are opening a trade that looks like the last mistake.

Trade a day that already happened

Reading your statistics tells you what went wrong. It does not give you the reps to fix it. Market Replay rewinds the real market to any past date, hides everything after it, and lets you trade forward one candle at a time — on the same screen as your journal.

Not a simulator with made-up prices

Gold, the FX majors, the indices, crypto and oil — from free tick-accurate Dukascopy data, on timeframes from one minute to four hours. You buy at the ask and sell at the bid using the spread that actually existed at that moment, not a convenient constant.

Manage it like a real position
Several take-profits that scale out, break-even, a trailing stop, partial closes — and you can drag the stop or any target straight on the chart while the trade is running.
It admits what it cannot know
If your stop and your target were both inside one candle, no chart can say which came first. Evidence books the loss, marks the trade, and can settle it for real against the tick data. Most backtests quietly book the win.
Study it properly
Play, pause, step one candle, or drag the scrubber anywhere in the session. Trend lines, boxes, Fibonacci and notes stay glued to the candles — and your account, drawdown and profit factor are tracked the whole way.
